Journal Selection Process

Choosing the right journal for your research is like finding the perfect stage for your performance. It's where your work gets its chance to shine. The selection committee oversees the peer review process, which involves evaluating the quality, validity, and significance of submitted manuscripts. They appoint expert reviewers to assess the papers. The committee is responsible for making editorial decisions based on the recommendations and feedback provided by the reviewers. This includes deciding whether to accept, reject, or request revisions for manuscripts. Committee members select and invite qualified reviewers from the field who possess expertise relevant to the submitted manuscripts. They establish and review editorial policies, such as open access options, copyright policies, and data sharing requirements, to align with the journal's mission and the evolving landscape of academic publishing. Addressing author appeals and disputes regarding editorial decisions is part of their role, ensuring transparency and fairness in the process. The committee manages the publication schedule, ensuring that accepted manuscripts are published in a timely manner. The committee may meet regularly to discuss the status of submitted manuscripts and make decisions based on the feedback from reviewers and the journal's policies. Communication between committee members and reviewers is essential to reach informed and fair editorial decisions. Final decisions are typically made by the editor-in-chief or a designated member of the committee, taking into account the committee's recommendations. The selection committee plays a pivotal role in maintaining the quality, integrity, and relevance of a journal's content, ensuring that published research contributes significantly to its field of study.

  1. First Step

    Initial Submission:

Authors submit their research papers to the journal through an online submission system or by email, following the journal's guidelines for manuscript preparation.
  2. Second Step

    Desk Review:

The journal's editorial team conducts an initial desk review to ensure that the submission aligns with the journal's scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these initial criteria may be desk-rejected without further review.
  3. Third Step

    Peer Review:

Manuscripts that pass the desk review undergo peer review. The editor-in-chief or associate editor assigns the manuscript to one or more expert reviewers in the field. Reviewers assess the manuscript's quality, methodology, originality, significance, and adherence to ethical standards. Reviewers provide detailed feedback, comments, and recommendations to the editor.
  4. Fourth Step

    Editorial Decision:

Based on the reviewers' feedback and recommendations, the editor-in-chief or editorial board makes an editorial decision. Common decisions include: Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication with minor or no revisions. Minor Revision: The manuscript requires minor revisions that can be reviewed by the editor or reviewers. Major Revision: The manuscript requires significant revisions and will be reevaluated after revisions are made. Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal.
  5. Fifth Step

    Final Decision:

The editor-in-chief or editorial board makes a final decision based on the revised manuscript, reviewer feedback, and the journal's publication criteria.
  6. Sixth Step

    Acceptance and Pre-publication:

If the manuscript is accepted, it moves forward in the publication process. Authors may be asked to provide final files, author bios, and any required declarations or disclosures. Manuscripts go through copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading before being scheduled for publication.
